• The Maps of Nocturnal Ionospheric Irregularities Over Brazil (NII Maps) is a product of the INPE (Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais) Space Weather Study and Monitoring Program.
• They are maps that show the distribution of nocturnal ionospheric irregularities (NII) over Brazil. NII are small-scale disturbances in the ionosphere that disrupt radio waves by causing amplitude and phase scintillations.

• The NII Maps are produced using data from a network of ground-based Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) receivers. The receivers measure the time it takes for GNSS signals to travel from the satellites to the receivers, and this time delay is used to calculate the NII.
