Brazil - Apply for the Special ExCombatant Pension


Procedure

Apply In Person

  1. To Apply for the Special ExCombatant Pension, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Social Development and Fight Against Hunger link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. There is no fee for this procedure.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number or through email.
  10. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  11. For further process, the applicant has to follow the instruction given by the officer.
  12. This entire process can be completed within 3 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

  • Proof of military service: Documents that demonstrate your service as an ex-combatant, such as a military identification card, service records, or any other official documentation.
  • Proof of participation in armed conflicts: Documents or certifications that verify your participation in specific armed conflicts recognized by the Brazilian government.
  • Proof of age: A certified copy of your birth certificate or another document that verifies your age.
  • Proof of residence: Documents that establish your current residential address, such as utility bills or a rental agreement.
  • Any other documents (If required)

Eligibility

The applicant can apply for the Special Ex-Combatant Pension in Brazil if you meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a Brazilian citizen or a legal resident of Brazil.
  • Have served in the Brazilian Armed Forces for at least 15 years.
  • Have been deployed in combat.
  • Have been injured or disabled as a result of your service in combat.
  • Have a good conduct record.
  • Have not been convicted of any crimes that would disqualify them from receiving a pension.
