Apply In-Person

1. To apply for the Trader Identification Number (TIN), you should submit your application to the Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS). Please view the BURS contact details via this link:Link
2. Obtain the application form for ASYCUDA Trader Identification Number (TIN) from the BURS office or download it from the BURS website:Link ( Scroll down to locate “TIN Application Form” and click on the hyperlink to download the form)
3. Complete the application in duplicate and provide all the required details as intrusted in the application
4. The visit the BURS office and submit the complete application to the officer at the service desk
5. The Officer will verify if your application is complete as required and forward it for processing
6. The application will be assessed and if it meets the required BURS standards for registration it will be processed and you will be registered for certification
7. You will then be allocated a unique Trade Identification Number (TIN) after registration

• All importers and exporters with an annual threshold of at least P20 000.00 or more
• All Clearing agents are required to register irrespective of the threshold.

• VAT Registration Number
• Declaration

• The TIN is used to identify registered importers and exporters with an annual threshold of at least P20 000.00 or more and all Clearing agents
