Botswana - Testing for HIV


Procedure

Apply In Person

  1. To Testing for HIV, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Health and Wellness Link
  2. The applicant has to visit the nearest health facilities - both public and private, as well as designated civil society organizations for HIV testing services.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned counter.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned counter office.
  7. The fee for testing for HIV is free of cost.
  8. The applicant has to complete the test in the hospital.
  9. The applicant has to wait in the hospital for the result.
  10. Once it is completed, the applicant can get the test report from the counter.
  11. This entire process can be completed within the sameday or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
