Apply In Person
- To apply for a new water connection for Domestic or Business/Company, an applicant should visit the nearest Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) branch agency near the residence and express their interest at the customer service desk. - Applicants are required to collect and complete the applicable forms i.e. Application form for water service connection (for individuals or business) and Agreement for the Supply of water, obtainable at any of the Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) office customer care desk, or download it via the WUC website, WUC Forms or directly download them using these Application form for water service connection for individuals OR Application For New Connection (Business / Organisation) and Agreement for the Supply of water terms & conditions Form
- Upon obtaining the application forms, the applicant should legibly complete the form, attach all the supporting documentation as listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page and submit the complete application file to the nearest WUC branch office for consideration. Any omission of the required documents or information will render the application process incomplete.
- Upon receipt of the application file, the WUC receptionist will verify if all the necessary information and documentation have been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before registering the application file for assessment and consideration.
- An acknowledgment letter will be issued to the client that will serve as proof of submission of the application and for inquiry referencing if the need arises. Customers are requested to come back or call after 07 working days for a quotation.
- The application file is then transmitted to the technical service for study, by the technical unit and quantity surveyors unit. The WUC surveyor’s team will then be sent to the site {residence} to inspect its feasibility and write a report.
- The report will then be validated by the technical agent, who will then draw a receipt indicating an estimated cost of the layout connection materials from the main water pipe.
- The file along with the quotation is then returned to the reception desk, to be issued to the client, who then decides if and when to make the connection fee.
- The customer is asked to pay the quotation fee plus a refundable security deposit. The charges may vary depending on the location. Customers are encouraged to pay over the counter to avoid delays.
- If the applicant agrees to make full payment, the WUC receptionist fills in and signs the contract form and sends it to the customer service manager for signature.
- The file is recorded on the computer, then sent to the cash register where the client will be advised to make payment against the connection receipt.
- Upon payment, the client will be issued a payment receipt as well as the original copy of the contract.
- A copy of the file is then sent to the accounting department for the journaling of the receipts. A second copy is sent to technical service and a third is filed with customer service.
- The technical service team will then visit the residence for external works, meter installation, and water flows within 7 days.
- Upon completing the installation, a meter installation form will be issued to the client by the technical service team to be completed, sign and then place in the customer file. The file is then sent to reception for updating and invoicing.
- The customer will receive his or her first bill with water charges within one month from the connection date.
Apply Online
- The request for new water connection for individuals/Domestic can also be submitted online through the WUC Online Platform
- Persons registered with the WUC should log in with their registered email address and password to access the WUC online platform. If not registered click on the “Register” tab.
- The registration page will be displayed, Fill out all the mandatory fields accurately, solve the math question then click on the “Register” button.
- Upon successful submission of the request, the applicant will receive a notification message on their screen, notifying him/her that the registration request has been received for processing by the WUC and that he/she will be contacted by the WUC after his/her registration details have been validated.
- If the registration is successful, log in with the (registered email address and password) to access the WUC online platform.
- The online request form will be displayed Online Application for Water Service Connection/ Individual or Domestic Connection.
- Fill out all mandatory fields accurately, upload the supporting documents as listed on the site, if satisfied that the information provided is true and accurate click on the “Declaration” button and the “Term and Condition” button. Complete the math security question then click on the “Submit” tab.
- It should be noted that the uploaded documents should be certified by relevant authorities.

- Certificate of incorporation.
- List of directors (Form 2/13/14)
- Resolution letter on company letterhead clearly indicating who has been assigned to sign for the company.

Additional Requirements for Construction projects
- Agreement between the plot owner and the contractor
- Proof of ownership (title deed/certificate of rights or land overseer lease agreement)
- Certificate of incorporation.
- List of directors (Form 2/13/14)
- Resolution letter on company letterhead clearly indicating who has been assigned to sign for the company.
- Building certificate (categories vary from A to E)
- Company stamp
- The customer asked to pay; the Charge depends on the construction category.
Additional Requirements for Government
- Proof of ownership (allocation letter)
- Organization Stamp
- Resolution letter for the assigned guarantor.
- The customer asked to pay. Only connection fee, no security deposit required.

Fees
- Applicants will be issued with a quotation receipt indicating the amount that is to be paid for the connection.
Validity
- The validity of the connection is indefinite unless one fail’s to pay the water bill, which may lead to disconnection of the water service.
