How to Apply:

1. One should contact Ministry of Education and Skills Development Headquarters Department of Basic Education for more information on how to file the application.
2. Application forms can be obtained for the above offices or download it by click the link .Link
3. Accurately fill in the form, sign it and attach copies of the requirements and submit them for verification and processing.
4. If the department is satisfied that you have complied with the all conditions as set for the application of the permit, he or she will then issue you with Permit any you will be notified both through post and email.

Documents from Applicants:

• Certified copies of degrees or diploma certificates (English version where applicable).
• Transcripts for all degrees or diplomas presented.
• Certified copy of passport pages should include the following details:

• Passport Issue and Expiry Date (Passport validity - minimum of 2 years).
• Approved length of stay in Botswana (if applying from within Botswana or Africa).

• Three copies of the application form (completely filled and signed).
• Three passport size photos (black/white or colour).
• Certified authenticating document on changed names or copy of marriage certificate (where applicable).
• Copies of references for work experience.
• Certified copies of resident permit or exemption certificate where applicable.
  
  

Documents from Employer:
(Teacher obtains these documents from the school/employer and attach them with the application)

• Submission of cover letter from employer, manager, consultant or supervising office-council.
• Teacher's offer letter from employer.
• Copy of permit/licence to operate the school from council.
• Copy of advertisement of the post (must be no more than 6 months old).
• Copy of employee application letter for the post (must be dated).
