Apply In-Person

1. The application for a Number Plate Manufacturer Licence shall be made to the Department of Road Transport and Safety (DRTS) office, which is under the Ministry of Transport and Communications.DRTS office contact details.
2. Collect and complete the Application for Number Plate Manufacturer/Suppliers Licence Form,available at the inquiries desk at the Department of Road Transport and Safety Offices across the country or directly download it using this link;Application for Number Plate Manufacturer/Suppliers Licence Form.
3. The applicant will be required to submit the certified copies of the supporting documentation, as mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page; in addition to the duly completed application form in all respect to the nearest DRTS office, permit-issuing unit. Any omission of these documents will render the registration process incomplete.
4. Upon receipt of the application file, the license issuing officer will verify if all the necessary information and documentation has been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before processing the application.
5. The client will be advised by the license issuing officer to pay the applicable permit fee as mentioned under the ‘Fees’ section of this page, at the DRTS cash counter and obtain a receipt.
6. Present the payment receipt to the license issuing officer, who will then draw up the Number Plate Manufacturer License and have it signed and stamped by a senior/authorized officer and issue it to the client against the applicant identification document.
7. The license shall be subject to such terms and conditions as the authorized official/ministry deems fit to impose in each case, and such terms and conditions or requirements shall be endorsed on the license.
