Apply In Person:

1. A request for a land search shall be made to the Deeds Registry office, which is under the Ministry of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services Office. Ministry Contact Details
2. For properties south of Dibete, including the districts of Ghanzi and Kgalagadi, the request should be submit to the Deeds Registry office in Gaborone, while for properties north of and in Dibete (Dibete included) the request should be made to the Deeds Registry office in Francistown.
3. Applicant will be required to preresnt an orginal copy of their identification document and he/she will be required to furnish the land registrar, with such information;
   • The registration number of the plot/land.
   • Current land owner details (if knowed)
   • Reason for the request
   • Contact Details of the applicant
4. The registrar shall then proceed and do a search on the data base, and upon a successful search the registrar will be able to provide/serach the following details with the applicant i.e;
   • Current registered owner of the land
   • Size of the land
   • Land marks (if available)
   • Pending legal matters (if any)

• Valid identification document (ID card for citizen / passport for foreigners)
• Copy of the deed (if available)
