Apply In-Person

1. You should contact the office of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology department of Radiation Protection Inspectorate (RPI)for more information on how to file the application with the department.
2. Application form can be obtained from the above office or download them by clicking the link below : link
3. Accurately fill in the application forms and submit the completed form along with the required supporting documentation (as listed below)
4. Pay the application fee
5. Your application will be verified and processed and if the authorized official is satisfied that you have compelled with all the requirements as set for the application of the permit, you will be issued the permit within 30 minutes.

• Valid road-worthiness certificate for the vehicle to be used for transportation of the radiation sources; and
• Document describing safety measures put in place during transport of radioactive sources

Only organizations that possess a License for Possession, Use and Sale of Radiation Sources may apply for a Permit to Transport Radiation Sources.

This schedule is reviewed annually

The fees, payable by cash, cheque, or adjustment voucher paid to the Radiation Protection Inspectorate are stipulated in theradiation protection regulation 2008

• Purpose(s) for which the radiation generator(s)/radioactive source(s) are to be used
• Name and Registration number of the Radiation Safety Officer
• Particulars of the radioactive sources used, stored, manufactured or otherwise dealt with on the premises. (SUPPLEMENTARY form attached.
• Particulars of the manufacture/supplier
• Particular of the vehicle to be used

The permit is issued to ensure that the movement of radioactive and nuclear materials is monitored and that these materials are transported in a safe and secure manner, the Radiation Protection Regulations, 2008, ACT require that any company that transports these materials acquires a Permit to Transport Radiation Sources.
