How to Apply

1. Applicants should visit the ministry of agriculture headquarter office or the nearest District Crop Production Office, Department of Agricultural Research, Seed Multiplication Unit {see address details below}.
2. Collect the Seed testing submission Application form or use this link to download Link
3. Submit the completed form and the seeds samples to the seed testing laboratory for analysis and testing.
4. The laboratory technician will verify, record the seeds sample and issue an acknowledgement receipt indicating the date of the withdrawal of the result. Note the receipt should be carried, when collecting the result if it’s in person.
5. After the sample test analysis and evaluation of the test results, a report finding will be issued/send to the applicant inform of a form either by mail, letter or in person.
6. If you require the test results to be explained, please contact/request the Laboratory officer to explain it and advise you.

• Processing period is within Fourteen to Twenty-one (14 to 21) working days depending on the influx of samples and the functional status of laboratory equipment.

• The Seed Multiplication Unit in the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security is mandated to certify seed lots under the Laws of Botswana and certification is limited to seed of officially recognized varieties, so grown and inspected, to protect varietal identity.
