1. To register for Mobile Money services with the Botswana Post (PosoMoney), the customer should visit any Botswana Post office, customer Care Desk, or PosoMoney Agent outlet and express your interest to access the service. Botswana Post Branch Offices Contact Details.
2. Present your mobile phone with an activated Botswana post-SIM card, the SIM card can be purchased, activate at any post office or any PosoMoney agent outlet, and a valid Identification document, which can be either:
   • Botswana National ID
   • Valid Botswana Passport
   • Valid Foreign Passport (for foreigners)
   • Botswana Military ID
   • Botswana Foreigner Certificate
3. Customers who want to register using these documents for identification - foreign passport, military ID, and Foreigner Certificate must visit a Botswana post customer Care Desk as the PosoMoney Agent can only register users with Botswana Passport or National ID.
4. The customer will receive a confirmation message from PosoMoney that the registration has been successful and a numeric start key (PIN) which they will use to activate PosoMoney on their phones.
5. After this step, the customer will fill the PosoMoney Customer Registration Form, the agent or the postal customer service staff will confirm the details & sign the registration form. The Customer will also sign the registration form and retain a copy as proof of registration.
6. Upon activation of an Account, the Customer shall be entitled to use PosoMoney services with immediate effect.

Note: All Mobile Money transactions shall be effected by SMS authorized with a Customer PIN, or by such other method the Botswana Post may prescribe from time to time.

Registration and activation of the mobile money services(PosoMoney) is free. However, the Botswana Post SIM card is sold at a standard cost.

The mobile money service (PosoMoney) is valid forever as long as the Botswana Post SIM card is active.

  • Purchase prepaid services like airtime top-up for any mobile network or prepaid electricity for any meter number.
  • Pay utility bills.
