Botswana - Apply for Franked Mail Service at Botswana Post

Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for Franked Mail Service, interested applicants should visit the nearest Botswana Post office. Botswana Post Branch Offices Contact Details.
  2. To access this service the applicant should have an already existing postal rental box with the Botswana Post and wishes to upgrade their services, if you do not have a postal rental box, you will be required to apply for one.
  3. Express your interest to access the service at the customer service desk/office; collect, complete, and sign the applicable Registration Application Form. Copies of the application forms are available for free at any of the Botswana Post offices located countrywide.
  4. Submit the duly completed Registration form in all respect, attached with the relevant supporting documentation as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page. Any omission of these documents will render the registration processing incomplete.
  5. Upon receipt of the application file, the customer service officer will verify, if all the necessary information and documentation has been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria, before processing the application.
  6. The client will be advised to pay the annual service fee and obtain a payment receipt. A copy of the Registration Form will be signed and stamped by the customer service officer and issued to the client, which will serve as a contract between you and the Botswana Post office.
  7. The Client will be issued with a license to operate the frank meter machine and be able to purchase both the franking machine and postage.

  • A Valid National Identify (Omang) or passport, and Certificate of Incorporation {in case of a business}.
  • Any other additional supporting documentation request by the Botswana post office.

Validity

The franked mail Service is valid forever as long as the subscriber pays the prescribed service fee, failure to do so will lead to disconnection of the services.

Payment of the service fee.

  • When subscriptions are due, you will receive a notification via SMS, email, and a letter in your post box from the Botswana Post office requesting you to make the applicable annual rental fee or service fee.
  • Payment can be made either in-person over the counter at any Post Office, or via the Botswana post website, or via mobile applications: PosoMoney or other money mobile app.

A license is required to operate a franking meter machine which is issued through the machine dealer.
