- To apply for Renewal of National Vehicle permit in Bihar the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to. Please follow our “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices.
- Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
- Application for Renewal of National Permit in Form 47
- Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
- Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
- Important verifications for the permit includes Vehicle condition, Body built arrangements etc... will be carried by authorities.
- After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed further.
Apply Online
- Use the following link : Apply Online and select “Permit Online” option under Other online Services.
- Select Bihar in the drop down menu and click “proceed”.
- Please follow the screen and fill in prompted details to process your online procedure.
- Upload required documents and take printout of acknowledgement.
- On the appointment date, go to RTO office before 11:30 am and submit the documents to officer at the office. He will mark the amount need to be paid at the respective counter.
- Pay the fees and submit the document at the counter.
- Authorities will process your application further.
Required Documents
- Application for Renewal of National Permit in Form 47
- Valid Permit
- Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
- Fitness Certificate of the vehicle.
- Proof of payment of tax for the current quarter.
- Insurance Certificate.
- Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
- Affidavit Sworn by the applicant before an Executive (or) a First Class Judicial Magistrate (or) Notary Public
- Passport size photo-2
- No object certificate from the financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA / Lease / Hypothecation.
- Pollution under control certificate
- Proof of Address (any one of the following to be produced)
- Ration Card
- Aadhaar Card
- Electoral Roll
- LIC Policy
- Passport
- Pay slip issued - Govt. Office (or) a Local Body
- Age Proof (any one of the following)
- School Certificate
- Birth Certificate

Need for the Document
- As per the Section 66(1) of M.V.Act.1988 no owner of a motor vehicle shall use or permit the use of the vehicle as Transport Vehicle in any public place unless he obtains a permit from Regional or State Transport Authority. Issuance of National Road Permit is the subject of State Transport Authority only
- The National Road Permit in respect of goods carriage to operate throughout the territory of India or in such contiguous States, not being less than four in number including the Home State in which the permit is issued
- Holder of the permit shall furnish to the Regional Transport Authority such periodical returns, statistics and other information as the State Government may, from time to time, prescribe.
- FC (for clearance) is a process meant for reviewing the condition of the vehicle by the RTO authorities
