To provide financial support to the poor widows of India, the widow pension scheme was introduced in India. A widow whose household is below the poverty line is eligible to get the benefits of pension scheme.

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a widow pension in Bihar, the applicant will have to contact the Department of Social Welfare. Please tap on the following link to view contact details: link.
2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form can be obtained upon visiting the Department of Social Welfare office.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with ”Required Documents” to the office.
6. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be permitted for pension.
7. Collect the permit from the respective office in a stipulated period of time and pension will be transferred in provided bank account as scheduled.

1. To apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, click on the following link : Website link
2. After visiting the website click on the Login button and click proceed.
3. Now login using your E-mail Id or Phone number,Password or OTP and enter the captcha code and click on the “Log in” button.
4. If you are a new user click on the option “Don’t have an account?Register HERE”.
5. Now enter all the required informations and enter the captcha code and click on the “Validate” button.
6. Now enter your E-mail ID OTP and mobile number OTP and click on the “Submit” button.
7. Now login using your Credentials.
8. Now select “Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme” and fill all the required information.
9. Upload your photograph by clicking on the “Choose File” option.
10. Atlast put a tick mark in the “I agree” box.
11. Next enter the captcha code mentioned there and click on the “Submit” button.
12. Next upload all the required documents and submit it.
13. Print the acknowledgement for future reference.
14. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
15. If sanctioned, beneficiary shall be issued a Pension Passbook.

INDIRA GANDHI WIDOW PENSION (CENTRAL GOVT)

• The age of the widow shall be between 40-79 years.
• The applicant must belong to a household below the poverty line.
• She has been a resident of the state namely bihar for not less than three years on the date of making application for Widow Pension.

The Lakshmi Bai Pension Yojana in Bihar:

• All widows above 18 years of age whose annual family income is below 60,000 Rupees
• The Applicant Should Have Income Certificate And Bpl Certificate.
• The Applicant Should Have A Native Certificate.
• The Applicant Should Have A Savings Account In The Nearby Post Office.
• The Applicant Should Have A Birth Certificate.
