1. To apply for Duplicate Temporary Fitness certificate in Bihar the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to. Please follow our “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices.
   
2. Also make sure you have all the necessary documents to process the application
   
3. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for this procedure
   
4. Make sure you have the written request on a white A4 sheet of paper
   
5. The applicant should bring in their vehicle for inspection.
   
6. Present the completed application and documents in the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   

Note:  The duplicate Fitness will be marked in Red as “DUPLICATE”.

Apply through Centres:

1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form can be obtained through the kiosk operator upon visiting the centre.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Submit the application form with ”Required Documents” to the office.
6. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
7. The operator will process the application online.
8. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
9. This application will be processed internally. Once the verification is over, these officials will submit their report to the respective superior authority to decide the issue of the Certificate to the applicant.
10. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any, will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
11. If approved, the certificate will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued in a stipulated period of time.

• In case of Private vehicles the fitness certificates is valid for 15 years and there after renewed at every 5 years

• In case of Transport Vehicles the fitness certificate is issued for a new vehicle for 2 years and subsequently renewed every year

• Fitness Certificate is an official document certifying that the holder’s vehicle is fit to drive at public places. As this certificate is a very important document in renewal of permits. One has to get the duplicate of the FC as and when he found that he has lost / misplaced / torned.
  
• The registration of vehicle is treated as valid only, if the vehicle has valid certificate of fitness.
  
• Fitness certificate for a vehicle in Bihar is required to renew the current status of the vehicle.
  
• The fitness is checked and certified by the Registering Authority.
  
• Fitness certificate is issued to check the pollution caused by the emission of smoke from the vehicles, to maintain the vehicle in proper condition and to avoid accidents

• An applicant should apply for renewal of his vehicle Fitness Certificate within 30 days from the date of expiry of its validity.
• RTO officials has the right to decide upon the issue of certificate.
