Bermuda - Apply for Phytosanitary Certificate

Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for a Phytosanitary certificate, Applicant has to approach the Plant Protection Laboratory. Contact details are listed below under the “office locations and contacts” section
  2. You have to submit an Application form to the Plant Protection Laboratory.
  3. Application form can be found on the following link: Link
  4. Download the application form and fill up your details.
  5. Please make sure you have all the required documents that are listed under the “Required documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to submit the duly filled application form, documents, fees and Shipment items to the Plant Protection Laboratory in Person. Contact details are listed below under the “office locations and contacts” section
  7. After the application form is processed, The Inspector inspects the shipment destined for export.
  8. Once the inspection yields satisfactory results, the inspector issues a Phytosanitary Certificate.

  • Application form
  • Commercial invoice
  • Laboratory Test Analysis
  • Sales Contract
  • Packing list
  • Address of final destination of the plant item(s)
  • Address of the origin of the plant item(s)
  • Import permits from the destination country for items which are of a quarantine risk.
  • CITES documentation - If your item is covered under CITES (Convention for the International Trade in Endangered Species) you must provide a copy or the original CITES documentation to prove that the items were collected, sold and traded legally. This department will provide re-export CITES documents for transport of your plants to the new location.

Certificate to Export plant material (same day service)- $50
CITES documentation - $35


Validity

The Certificate is valid per shipment or consignment. A new shipment requires a new Phytosanitary Certificate

The plant items and the container in which the plants will be shipped should be delivered to the Plant Protection Laboratory for inspection, along with your application, in the morning.
