How to Apply:

1. You should visit the Ministry of Labour and public service office near you for more information with all the required documents (listed below)
2. Write request letter addressed to the Direction Generale du Travail (DGT) outlining reason for the request and attach the supporting documents and submit them for verification and processing.
3. If the DGT or the authorized officer is satisfied that all the document submitted are authentic, your application will then be processed within a month.
4. You will be notified of the responses by the office and if approved you will be issued the work permit upon payment of the required fees.

• Certificate of visit and counter visit
• Work certificates
• Birth certificate or supplementary birth judgment (legalized copy)
• Extract from the applicant's criminal record less than three months old (court)
• Curriculum vitae (CV)
• Two (02) identity photos
• Copy of Passport bio page
• Registration number of the employer at the CNSS
• Affiliation number of the employee to the CNSS.
• Any other document requested by the authority

Upon arrival to Benin all foreigners’ workers are required to obtain an issuance worker permit though the ministry of labour so that their can be able to work legally and also be able to apply for a residence permit.
