A Benin visa is a stamp or endorsement placed by officials of Malawi on a passport that allows the foreigner to visit Benin. Visas are obtained from the Embassy or consulates of Benin or at the department of Immigration and Emigration of Benin. A Beninese Transit Visa, is issued to foreigners transferring through a port in Benin to a third destination.
All travellers must hold a visa except the following:
1. Citizens of Benin.
2. Travellers staying for no more than three months provided they are:
2.1. Citizens of Algeria, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde Islands, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo (Brazzaville), Cote d'Ivoire, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Romania, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Togo.
2.2. Travellers with Chinese Taipei passports.
2.3. Travellers with normal passports issued to Citizens of People's Republic of China, except if they have passports issued by Hong Kong (A Special Administrative Region of China).
2.4. Travellers with diplomatic passports issued to Citizens of People's Republic of China.
2.5. Citizens of Israel with United Nations diplomatic passports who are travelling on duty.
3. Travellers staying for no more than two weeks provided they are:
3.1. Travellers with passports issued by Hong Kong (A Special Administrative Region of China).
4. Citizens of Cuba with service or diplomatic passports.
5. Citizens of Cuba with normal passports, travelling as relatives or as servants of Cuban service or holders of diplomatic passports.
6. Travellers with a return permit issued by Benin.
7. Travellers with travel documents issued to refugees and people without nationality or citizenship.
