1. Visit the Marriage Office (at least 3 months before the date of the marriage).
2. One of the future couple has to present an ID card. A list of required documents and the time period will be established.
3. The register office records in Belgium needed in the application process, are collected by the administration of the City of Brussels.
4. The moment the municipal administration has all the necessary documents, it will establish the wedding statement and, at least 15 days later, the marriage can be celebrated.

• It is necessary (except in rare cases) that one of the parties is registered in Brussels.

Application fees must be paid in cash.

• Wedding book: 17.50 euro
• Ceremonies to be conducted in City hall:
  • Free, if they take place on Friday and Saturday morning
  • For ceremonies between 12 am and 1:40 pm, expenses amount to 250 euro, the inner courtyard and the balcony are then available for the couple.
