- To obtain Health Certificate of Cattle for Slaughter, the applicant has to approach the Department of Livestock Services link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- A veterinarian will examine the cattle to determine if they are healthy and free from any diseases that could be harmful to humans or other animals.
- The veterinarian will look for signs of fever, respiratory illness, skin lesions, and other indicators of poor health.
- If the cattle pass the health inspection, the veterinarian will issue a Health Certificate of Cattle for Slaughter. This certificate confirms that the cattle are healthy and safe for consumption.
- With the Health Certificate, the applicant can transport the cattle to the designated slaughterhouse for processing. The certificate must be presented to the slaughterhouse authorities before the cattle are slaughtered.
- This entire process can be completed within 3 – 4 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Need for the Document
- The Health Certificate of Cattle for Slaughter is a legal document that confirms the health status of cattle and verifies that they are safe for human consumption.
