1. To obtain Sports Fishing Licence, the applicant has to submit an application Form along with the supporting documents and corresponding Fees, to the Department of Marine Resources.
2. The Applicant can download the Form from the below link: Form Link.
3. A Permits can be obtained from the Bahamian Customs Officer in two ways:
   1. At the time of entry:
      • Fill the all required details in the application form with the applicant signature.
      • Submit completed application form, along with the required supporting documents, to the Bahamian Customs Officer and pay the required fee.
      • Permit will then be issued to applicant.
   2. From the Department of Marine Resources after entry:
      • Fill the all required details in the application form with the applicant signature.
      • Submit completed application form, along with the required supporting documents, to the Department of Marine Resources and pay the required fee.
      • Permit will then be issued to applicant.

There is no eligibility criteria for this service.

• BS$20.00 per trip or BS$150.00 annually
• BS$0.20 per foot for foreign owned vessels registered within The Bahamas.
• BS$10,000 annual fee for vessels that will use more than 6 reels (party or foreign owned charter fishing vessels)
  

The duration of the permit is determined by the applicant. A Permit can either be issued on a “per trip basis” or an “annual basis”

A Sport Fishing Permit is a permit that allows foreign-owned vessels to participate in sport fishing activities in Bahamian waters.
