Apply In-Person

1. To Renew vehicles registration the applicant should present the motor vehicle to the nearest Road Traffic Department in New Providence or the Family islands. The Administrator’s office will act on behalf of RTD in Bimini/Cat Cay, Harbour Island and Spanish Wells.
2. The Applicant should provide all the supporting documents to the Inspector at the location.
3. The Inspector will verify documents and perform the inspection on the vehicle.
4. If vehicle fails, the inspection the failure reason will be captured for RTD records.
5. If the vehicle passes the inspection the owner will be given an Inspection Certificate of Fitness form to present to the Cashier.
6. Upon payment of the required fees by the applicant, the Cashier will issue a renewed Vehicle License Disc.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm except on public holidays. These times are adjusted to 9am to 3pm on month end, which represents Government payday and five (5) working days after.

1. 0-5000 lbs
   • Vehicle Licence Fee $160
   • Inspection Fees $35
2. 5001-15000 lbs
   • Vehicle Licence Fee $560
   • Inspection Fees $35
3. Over 15000 lbs
   • Vehicle Licence Fee $710
   • Inspection Fees $35.
     

Vehicle Registration and Inspection expire on the last day of the vehicle owner’s birth month.

Carmichael Rd Office – Next Day
All Abaco Offices – One Week
All Eleuthera Offices – One Week
