Bahamas - Obtain a Port Identification


Procedure

Apply In-Person

  1. To obtain a Port Identification Card, the applicant has to submit an application Form along with the supporting documents and corresponding Fees, to the Port Department.
  2. The Application form can be collected from any of the offices listed in the “Office Locations & Contacts” Section of this procedure.
  3. The application fee is paid when the application is submitted.
  4. The application, along with all supporting documents, will be reviewed by the Port Department.
  5. Once the documents are approved, identification card will be issued to the applicant.




Required Documents

  • A letter requesting permission to enter the port
  • Job reference letter
  • A valid passport (first three pages of passport)
  • National Insurance Number
  • Police Record (not less than three months old)


Ferryboat and Jet Ski operators must also provide:

  • Operator’s Licence
  • Master’s Licence and/or STCW Certification

  • Immigration employees
  • Road Traffic employees
  • Customs Employees
  • Tourism Employees
  • Ferryboat Operators and Ship Agents
  • Jet Ski Operators
  • Tour Guides
  • Taxi Drivers
  • Vendors and Musicians



Fees

The application fee is BS$25.


Validity

All identification cards must be renewed annually.
