Apply In-Person

1. To obtain Certified Copy of Marriage Certificate, the applicant has to submit an application Form along with the supporting documents and corresponding Fees, to the Marriages Section of the Registrar General’s Department.
2. The Applicant can download the Form from the below link: Form Link.
3. The Applicant has to required details and sign the application form and Submit the form to the Marriages Section of the Registrar General’s Department.
4. A search will be made for a record of the marriage.
5. Once the records are found, a payment shall have made and a Marriage certificate copy will be issued.

Any person who gets married in The Bahamas.

• The fees charges for this service is BS$20.00 payable by International Postal Money Order or Bank Draft or Cashier’s Check, payable to “THE REGISTRAR GENERAL’S DEPARTMENT.”
• APOSTILLE FEE @U.S. $120.00: Cashier’s Check or Bank Draft payable to the “PUBLIC TREASURY.”

• A certificate can be issued within the same day of application if a record can be found using the computerised database of marriages.
• In case of a manual search, the process may take three to four days.
