Bahamas - Get Clearance for Commercial Aircraft


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Get Clearance for Commercial Aircraft, the applicant has to visit any nearest office of the Customs Department in his/her state of residence. The address and contact details of branch offices across the country can be found in the following link: address details
  2. Visit the office and get an application form for Clearance for Commercial Aircraft (C7) from the relevant officer.
  3. Or you can download the Application Form C7, by clicking on the following Link to Download
  4. Complete the required C7 – Inward Declaration for Commercial Aircraft form in triplicate.
  5. Present form in triplicate along with the relevant documents to the customs officer at the point of arrival at the Port of entry in the Bahamas along with other supporting documents.
  6. Once the forms are processed, a copy is given to customs, immigration and the pilot for his records.

Commercial aircrafts (passengers / cargo) can apply.



Fees

Two types of fees are applicable:

1.Overtime fees are charged on flights arriving before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday and on Saturdays 12:01 a.m. thru 12 midnight & Sundays from 12:01 a.m. thru 9 a.m. Monday.
For Commercial airlines, the fees are as follows:

  • Not exceeding 30 seats is $25 per hour.
  • Exceeding 30 but not 70 seats is $50 per hour.
  • Exceeding 70 seats is $100 per hour.


For Cargo Airlines the fee is $50 per hour

2.Landing fees are based on weight of the aircraft. (These fees are administered by Civil Aviation)

Note: The landing fees are collected by Customs in the Family Island ports only. The rate sheet can be obtained from Civil Aviation Department. Link to Rate Sheet

Need for the Document

Under customs regulation commercial aircrafts (passengers / cargo) are required to provide an Aircraft General Declaration, passenger and cargo manifest.
