Bahamas - Apply for a Telecommunication License


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for a Telecommunication license in person, the applicant has to visit any nearest office of the Utilities Regulation & Competition Authority (URCA). The address and contact details of branch offices across the country can be found in the following Address details
  2. Applicants should collect the application form from the authorities.
  3. Complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections.
  4. After filling the application form, make sure to attach all the supporting documents the authority request.
  5. Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office.
  6. After submission, your application along with the attached documents will be forwarded for further verifications.
  7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be permitted the license.
  8. Collect the license from the respective office in a stipulated period of time.


Note: Applicants should note that it is their responsibility to provide all necessary details with their application and should not rely on URCA to search for or request information to support any application.

  • The applicant is responsible for providing URCA with accurate and relevant documentation. This will ensure that the application is processed promptly and without delay.
  • If insufficient information is provided with an application URCA will generally specify and request additional information to be submitted before the application is considered further.
