There is a non-refundable processing fee of BS$200.00.

Once the actual application has been accurately and completely submitted, applicant should contact the Consultation Unit at 604-0241/2 within 3 to 4 week period for an update of the process of the application.

Please provide other instructions related to the certificate/documents. e.g. The state office holds birth records since january 1908.

It is required for persons who wish to work in Bahamas.
Only Renewal of Long-Term Work Permits and Permit to Reside applications can be applied Online through the portal. For all other permit types, they must be applied in person at the Immigration Office.
Please explain what are other uses of obtaining this document/certificate. e.g. Birth Certificate can be used as proof of identity.
Any non-Bahamian national wishing to work in the Bahamas for a period longer than 90 days, should apply for a long term work permit / visa. For long term work permits, a Labour Certificate (with Notice of Vacancy (NOV)) is required from the Department of Labour.
