Apply In-Person

1. The applicant has to submit an application form to the Ministry of Works & Urban Development or Ministry of Tourism.

3. Complete and submit the application form along with all supporting documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section to the Ministry of Works & Urban Development or local administrator.
4. The Clerk will verify all information before issuing the approval letter.
5. In New Providence or the Family Islands, take the car to the local Road Traffic Department. In Bimini/Cat Cay, Harbour Island, and Spanish Wells, the Administrator's office will act on behalf of RTD
6. Provide all of your supporting documents to the inspector on the location.
7. The car will be inspected and documentation will be verified by the inspector. If the vehicle fails the inspection, the reason for the failure will be recorded in the RTD records.

9. The owner will be given an Inspection Certificate of Fitness form to provide to the RTD Customer Service Representative if the vehicle passes the inspection.
10. The Applicant TMN will be used to register your car.
11. The Cashier will issue the Vehicle License Disc, a Title Certificate, and new motor vehicle license plates after the owner pays the requisite costs.

Before any miscellaneous vehicles can be driven on public roads, the owner must get a letter from the Ministry of Works & Urban Development titled "Permit to Operate Special Vehicles on Public Roads." When registering the car with the Department of Road Traffic, this letter must be presented along with the other supporting vehicle documentation.
