Bahamas - Apply for Basic Home Assessment


Procedure

Apply In-Person

  1. The applicant has to submit an application form to the National Emergency Management Agency Office in Nassau or on The Family Islands to the Administrator’s office.
  2. Visit the following link for Contact Details Link.
  3. The Assessment Form can be collected at the National Emergency Management Agency.
  4. Complete the application form with all details.
  5. After filling in all the details submit the application form along with the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section to the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA).
  6. There is no fee payment for this service.
  7. The Administrator's stamp of approval, in coordination with the Department of Social Services and the Ministry of Works on the specific Island, is required if the evaluation form is being submitted from the Family Islands.
  8. NEMA will analyse the documents before sending them to the appropriate agencies for evaluation.

This is a quick examination to help speed up the door-to-door inspection. The length of time depends on the severity of the occurrence.

This service is intended to aid in the collecting of standardised information about disaster-related damage to Bahamian homeowners' dwellings. Please keep in mind that this is a secondary assessment. The relevant government agencies are in charge of the initial assessment.
