1. Go to your local police station to apply for an ID card. Use the link provided under "Office Location and Contact Information" section to search for the address of the police station near your area.
2. Complete an application form and submit it together with all required documents. Note: You are only required to submit photocopies of your documents (Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate etc.) but make sure that you also bring the original documents in case the officer would like to verify your documents.
3. Pay all applicable fees. ID cards for first time to applicants who are younger than 16 are issued for free.

• Certificate of Marriage (photocopy)
• Military Card (photocopy)
• Order or Certificate of Registration of Flat
• Medical Reference (blood group, height, eye color)

Territorial police authorities

There are 2 types of Identity Card:

1. Identity Card given to a citizen under the age of 16.
2. And ID card given to a citizen aged 16 and above.

Duty for issuance or renewal of Identification card to citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan:

• issuing or renewing within 10 days: 5 AZN
• issuing or renewing within 3 working days: 25 AZN
• issuing or renewing within 1 working day: 35 AZN

You must renew your ID card upon reaching the age of 25, 35, 50 years old.
