Citizenship represents the link between a person and a state or an association of states. Possession of citizenship is normally associated with the right to work and live in a country and to participate in political life.

A name change in the proof of citizenship is not mandatory , however it is ideal to have the name on your proof of citizenship matches your legal name.

After getting married, the name and/or address change can be filed simultaneously at the registry office and you must apply for a a new proof of citizenship ( primary residence must be in Vienna). In this case, the relevant documents for proof of citizenship must be brought.
