1. Attend any Canberra Connect Shopfront or the Civic Driver License Service with Proof of Identity and residency and pay the relevant license fee.
2. Complete the declaration on a license renewal form and may be required to have an eye test.
3. A new photo will be taken for your license and the license will be renewed until your next birthday divisible by five.

License renewal is done every 5 years.

• You will be sent a courtesy reminder about four to six weeks before the expiry date of your driver license. However, you do not require this reminder to renew your license.
• A driver license can be renewed up to three months in advance. Upon proof of overseas travel a license can be renewed up to twelve months in advance.
