Australian Capital Territory - Commercial Pilot License


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain Commercial Pilot License, the applicant has to approach Civil Aviation Safety Authority. Contact details are mentioned in “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page. Or use the following given Contact Link
  2. The applicant has to apply for class rating or type rating and pass the Commercial Pilot License (CPL) theory exam.
  3. The applicant has to fill-in all the details in the form.
  4. Applicant has to get the application form from Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
  5. Applicant should make sure to attach all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
  6. Submit the application with the required document to appropriate office.
  7. Submitting address is mentioned in “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page.
  8. Fee of this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
  9. Civil Aviation Safety Authority will issue the certificate and notify the applicant.

Eligibility

  • An applicant who wants a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) must:
    • 18 years of age or older.
    • Be a licensed private pilot (PPL).
    • Understand and speak English at a specific level.
    • Get a medical certificate by taking a medical exam.
