2. Prepare a comprehensive operations manual that outlines your proposed balloon operation, including operational procedures, safety protocols, maintenance procedures, and other relevant details. Ensure that your manual aligns with CASA's requirements.
3. Establish a safety management system that conforms to CASA's requirements. Your SMS should include processes for identifying and managing risks, reporting incidents, and promoting a safety culture within your organization.
4. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. or it can be downloaded from the following link
5. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
6. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
8. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office mailing address.
9. The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
10. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
11. After receiving the document set, the concerned authority will check the submitted letter and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
12. Then the application will be processed further.
13. The officer may conduct inspections of your facilities, equipment, and operations to ensure compliance with safety standards.
14. They may also request additional information or clarification during the assessment process.
15. Demonstrate to CASA that your balloon operation meets all the necessary safety requirements and regulations. This may involve providing evidence of training programs, safety procedures, and adherence to maintenance and operational standards.
16. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
17. If the application is approved and the applicant has met all the necessary requirements, CASA will issue you an Air Operator's Certificate for balloon operations.
18. This entire process can be completed within 2 – 3 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
