Apply In-Person:

1. To Book Complaint about an Incorrect EB Meter, the applicant has to approach the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited link
2. The applicant has to write a written complaint letter for EBI.
3. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
5. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
6. There is no fee for complaining EB meter.
7. After receiving the letter, the concerned authority will check the submitted letter and document. If all are in place, the letter will be accepted.
8. The authority will visit the site for checking the EB meter.
9. This entire process can be completed within a week or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

• Applicants must complete the application form before submitting it. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
• Applicants must provide genuine information while applying for this procedure.

• If the meter is faulty/damaged or not functioning, then the consumer should immediately report to the concerned electricity billing /sub-division office as applicable and get it repaired/replaced/get a new meter. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to make sure the safety of meters.

Causes of the electric meter stoppage.'
If the applicant's power goes out and there is no electrical outage in the applicant's area, the applicant could have a broken electric meter. Sometimes, heavy storms can cause the electric meter to break or pull away from the home. If the connection is broken from the meter to his/her home, it stops working and so does the power.
