Apply In Person:

1. The license/permission for demolishing any building is provided by the concerned authorities in the Municipal Corporation. Contacts
2. The application form has to be obtained from the authorities in the respective district Municipal Corporation.
3. The prescribed application form for building demolition is Form 1. (Part-II for Building Permit)
4. The application form has to be handwritten by the person/owner/agent applying for demolition purposes.
5. The application form has to be submitted along with the required documents prescribed by the authorities.
6. Make sure that you have all the documents which is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. The fee estimation will be provided by the authorities based on the building type and its location.
8. Before the demolition, the owner has to make sure to disconnect the supplies to the building such as
   • Water Supply
   • Electricity Supply
   • Sewage Connection
9. After supervising everything the authorities will provide permission to demolish the building.

Apply Online:

1. The building demolition application can be submitted online in the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority, Govt. of Assam’s official website. website
2. If you are a New User, you have to create an account using your Mobile Number and Email ID.
3. Here is the login portal for applying permission for building demolition. Login Portal
4. The online application form i.e. Form 1 can be downloaded from the main webpage. Application Form
5. Make sure to have all the documents from the “Required Documents” section of this page before applying online.
6. All the required documents have to be scanned and uploaded to the website.
7. The details have to be filled in the application Form 1. (Same as in “Apply In Person)
8. The online fee payment can be made using the Credit card/Debit Card and E-Challan.
9. After supervising everything the authorities will provide permission to demolish the building.

The documents that are necessary for the building demolition permission are:

• 3 copies of building Plan and Statement (Ferro-Paper or any type of paper) such as;
• Trace map indicating;
  • Dag No
  • Patta No
  • Revenue Village
  • Mouza and the Town of the concerned District
• A key plan
• A site plan drawn (with a minimum scale of 1:200)
• A building plan – (with a minimum scale of 1:100)
• General Specifications
• A certificate of supervision
• A certificate of undertaking for hazard safety from Structural Engineer
• An affidavit certificate
• Receipt Copy of up-to-date property tax
• One set of copies should be laminated.
• Extra copies if demanded by the authorities.
• The photocopy should also be self-attested by the owner of the building.
• NOC certificate from the Neighbour (if the building is Semi-Detached)

Any individual who owns the building is eligible to seek permission for building demolition.

• The fee structure for the demolition of the building is given by the respective authorities after surveying the particular building.
• However the application fee cost is as follows;
• Residential Assam Type with Bamboo wall --- 2.00 per sqm.
• Assam Type with Brick wall--- 5.00 per sqm.
• Residential R.C.C. Type Ground floor ---- 15.00 per sqm.
• Upper floors ---- 20.00 per sqm.

The buildings should be demolished in a safe environment without causing any Air Pollution and Noise Pollution.
