Need for the Document

[edit]

Dissolution of marriage or divorce is the termination of marital union between married couple. It results in cancellation of all legal duties and responsibilities between married couples.

The divorce decree is a document that finalizes a divorce and specifies financial and legal details of the divorce. Every person who has been through a divorce should have this legal record. Occasionally, divorce papers are required to prove the existence of a marriage or divorce for a mortgage, veteran's claim or even a family event like adoption. When a divorced individual loses divorce papers, there is a process to get copies.

Following are procedures on how you can obtain a divorce certificate in Arizona.

Information which might help

[edit]

Divorce records are stored and updated regularly by the state authorities. Divorce records may be procured by anyone who wishes to verify a persons marital status before getting involved with him or her. As marriage is a long-term bonding, it is better to double check your potential partner's history before accepting the person as your married partner. This is particularly important if you know he or she had been married earlier. It makes sense to find out whether the divorce was actually granted or not.

Other uses of the Document/Certificate

[edit]

Divorce certificate is typically acceptable for proof of divorce or other legal purposes.
