1. Applications for citizenship can be made to the Passport Office on Queen Elizabeth Highway. If you are not sure if you are eligible to apply for citizenship, an interview Officer can research and check your file to inform you of your eligibility. A fee will be applied for the research.
2. After you have submitted your application you will be given a receipt asking you to report back to the Immigration Department. Call or visit the Immigration Department to make an appointment as soon as you receive the receipt from making the application.
3. You are required to bring the following documentation with you on the day of your interview with the Immigration Department:
   1. Receipt issued by the Passport Office
   2. Copy of the BIO page of passport(s) and all other pages with Immigration stamps.
   3. All passports while resident in Antigua and Barbuda.
   4. Local Antigua and Barbuda Police Record.
   5. A copy of your birth certificate.
   6. A copy of your Marriage certificate (If Married).
   7. A Police Record from any country that you have lived in for six months or more.
   8. Copies of arrears receipts.

Residency Unit

Located on the second floor of the Immigration Headquarters. The Unit provides the public with various services to include the following:

• Temporary Resident issuance and renewal
• Lost and Stolen Passports
• Research on citizenship applicants
• Interviews for Citizenship applicant

The Officers assigned to this Unit interview applicants on a daily basis. The purpose of the interview is to verify the applicant’s identity, authenticate photocopies of documents with the originals that are presented at the interview, and obtain information to determine if the requirements for a grant of citizenship have been met.
