Applications for the modification of name on birth certificate are submitted to the Civil Registry - DNRN.

Articles 7 and 8 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child states, "The child shall be registered immediately after birth and shall have the right from birth to a name, the right to acquire a nationality..." A Birth Certificate is a record that documents the birth of a child. In Angola the name stated on the birth certificate may be modified in cases where there are misspellings in the name.
