Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. The licensee may apply for amendment (to Modify or Correct) of Trade licence with the concerned “Municipal Corporation / Municipality / designated department” office from where the Trade licence was obtained.
  2. Link for contact details: Municipal Corporation AND link AND link for district please select “About AP > Districts “menu to get next page. Here please select the respective district from the left part of the screen to get next page, please click on the hyperlink against “More info” for desired district portal. In this page please select “DIRECTORY > PUBLIC UTILITIES > Municipalities” menu for contact details.
  3. Go to the respective office.
  4. Meet the respective authority at the licensing section. The applicant shall get advice from the authority to be followed to apply for this procedure.
  5. Please collect the required application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
  6. Complete the application form.
  7. For the minor change of any information of a Trade/Business like change of area director, partner name and alike shall be done by applying with an application form/plain paper enclosing photocopies of current year's Demand Notice, previous year's Certificate of Enlistment (Trade Licence) and all the supporting documents for the changes as per our “Required Documents” section.
  8. After receiving the application and documents, authorities will check the submitted document set. If all are in place the application will be accepted with applicable charges.
  9. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual register for amendment of Trade licence or electronically using the computer.
  10. Authorities will issue an acknowledgement receipt for the receipt of the application.
  11. Please collect it and keep it safe for future reference.
  12. Applicant shall follow the guidelines of the authorities. Authorities will intimate the probable date for the issue of the updated licence.
  13. This application will be processed internally.
  14. Applicant shall follow department intimation. Applicant will get update about the progress of his/her application through SMS in their registered mobile number as applicable.
  15. After proper inspection by the department, necessary change can be done in the Certificate of Enlistment as per application.
  16. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS or as per applicable norms.
  17. The updated licence shall be issued against the duly authenticated copy of a receipt showing payment to the Municipality or to the designated licensing department as appropriate.


Apply In-Person for major changes/modification

  1. Follow the format in case of the required changes are considered major like change of firm / company name, proprietor, address, nature of trade, status (proprietor to partner and vice versa, Private Ltd to Ltd and alike) etc.
  2. The process is like applying for a new licence itself.
  3. The licensee may apply for amendment (to Modify or Correct) of Trade licence with the concerned “Municipal Corporation / Municipality / designated department” office from where the Trade licence was obtained.

  17. If approved, the certificate will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued as per applicable norms.
  18. The updated new licence shall be hand issued against the duly authenticated copy of a receipt showing payment to the Municipality or the designated licensing department as appropriate.

  • Identity proof of applicant (ration card / Passport / Aadhaar card / Driving licence)

  • Rental agreement if it is a rented place
  • Proof of address of the firm/establishment.
  • Authorization letter in case of the licensee authorized person applies
  • Residence proof of authorized person (ration card / Passport / Aadhaar card / Driving licence)
  • Identity proof of authorized person (ration card / Passport / Aadhaar card / Driving licence)


For minor changes

  • Trade Licence in original for processing
  • Copy of Trade Licence for submission
  • Current year's Demand Notice
  • Partnership deed if it is partnership firm
  • An affidavit on Rs. 10/- (or as per the advised amount) Non-Judicial stamp paper to the effect that an amendment has been made for Change of director as applicable (Change of director or change of partner name)


For major changes

  • Trade Licence in original
  • Current year's Demand Notice
  • Partnership deed if it is partnership firm
  • An affidavit on Rs. 10/- (or as per the advised amount) Non-Judicial stamp paper to the effect that an amendment has been made for Change of director as applicable (Change of firm / company name or change of proprietor or nature of trade)
Note:
  • All original and copy of original with self-attestation as advised by respective authorities to be submitted as per requirement.
  • Apart from the above documents authorities may ask you to submit additional information or documents. Please provide them for processing.

  • A valid Trade licensee is eligible to apply for an amendment in case of…
    • Change in the trade
    • Changing the trade within the same premises
    • Covered area of the trade is being increased or decreased
    • Change of area director
    • Change of partner name
    • Change of firm/company name
    • Change of proprietor
    • Change of nature of trade
    • Change of proprietor to partnership and vice versa
    • Change of Private Ltd to Ltd



Fees

  • Fees structure is different for different states.
  • Please pay as authority’s advice at the time of applying.
  • Don’t forget to take the receipt for the payment.



Validity

  • The validity of the licence remains unchanged.
  • Usually Licence is valid for 1 financial year or as notified on the licence.
