Andaman and Nicobar - Obtain a Domicile or Residence Certificate


Procedure

Following are the ways through which you can apply for local certificate in Andaman and Nicobar.

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for the local certificate approach the concerned tehsildar office.
  2. Obtain the prescribed application form from the tehsildar office by paying a fee of Rs. 2.
  3. Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
  4. Submit the form to the tehsildar office along with the required documents. More details about the tehsildar office location is provided in the following links North office location AND South office location
  5. Refer the tehsildar office location mentioned in the “Office location & contacts” section below.
  6. After the application form is processed, an enquiry officer will make a thorough verification regarding your proof which you have submitted along with the form.
  7. Collect the acknowledgment slip after submitting the form.
  8. After 10 days, use the acknowledgment slip to obtain local certificate.

Apply online

  1. To obtain a Domicile or Residence certificate in Andaman and Nicobar Islands online, the applicant has to follow the given link: Link.
  2. Enter the valid Email id and password to login if already a user, otherwise, create a new one by clicking “Create account” in the citizen login.
  3. After the successful login, click on “Useful Service” which is displayed on the home page of the portal.
  4. The application form for the local certificate will open up on the next screen.
  5. Fill out the application with the required details and attach the prescribed documents mentioned in the required documents section below.
  6. Click on the “Submit” button after completing the details in the application form.
  7. Upon submission, the applicant will receive an acknowledgement slip as the confirmation of submission.
  8. After verification, the applicant can obtain the domicile certificate from the concerned authority with the help of the acknowledgement slip.

For Local Certificate (10 Years):
  • Photography of Applicant (2 Passport Size photos)
  • Birth Certificate
  • 10th Certificate
  • 10 years Duration

For Local Certificate Pre 1942/Settler:
  • Photography of Applicant (2 Passport Size photos)
  • Birth Certificate
  • 10th Certificate
  • Ration Card
  • Islander Card (Parents)
  • Local (Parents)

  • Applicant name
  • Education details


Need for the Document

Local certificate is used to know that the certificate holder resides in the state where the local certificate is issued.
