Apply via Agent
- Port Blair Municipal corporation (PBMC), levies property tax and governs collection of the same
- Property tax is calculated and collected annually. The payment of tax has to be made on or before 30th June

Apply In-Person
- Please make sure you have the current assessment or get the old assessment or receipt of property tax to pay in person.
- Resident shall use the self assessment form to get assessment of the said property. Please fill the details as applicable in the form and submit it to the assessing officer to get assessment of the tax amount : Assessment form link
- Please go to the municipal office and submit these details along with required documents at the collection counter. After accepting the fees, counter staff will issue you the receipt for the amount received for future reference. Link for municipal office: Contact link
Apply Online:
- To Pay Property Tax, the applicant has to make the application online via – link
- In the given clink below the property tax, click the “Proceed” button.
- If the applicant is the new user, the applicant has to click the “Register” button.
- Enter all the details and create password and then click the “Submit” button.
- Now, the applicant has to login by using the details and click the “Login” button.
- The applicant has to enter the tax number and the registered number.
- Click the “Proceed” button to check the details.
- Now the applicant has to click the “Pay” option.
- The applicant can pay the bill amount by using credit card/debit card or UPI number.
- After successfully completed, the applicant can download the payment slip by clicking the “Download” button.
- This entire process can be completed within few minutes.
Apply through CSC
- To Pay Property Tax, the applicant has to approach the nearest CSC centre – link
- NOTE: The applicant has to select state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centres.
- The applicant has to visit the centre and submit the tax pay invoice to operator.
- The officer will check the details in the computer.
- Followed by the applicant can pay the amount to the officer by cash or online transaction.
- Once the payment process for the property tax is completed, the applicant will get a successful payment receipt from the officer.
- The processing time for this procedure is complete within a day.
Apply through Paytm
- To Pay Property Tax, the applicant has to download the app from the following link – link
- The applicant has to click the “Municipality payment”.
- The applicant has to select the respective corporation from the list.
- The applicant has to enter the property ID and other minor details and then click the “Get Tax Amount” button.
- Now the amount will be displayed in the screen and click the “Proceed to pay” button.
- The applicant has to select the payment method.
- Enter the payment details and click the “Pay” button.
- The applicant can check the payment summary after the payment gets successful.
- The processing time for this procedure is complete within few minutes.

Validity
The property tax paid is valid for one year. Every year, you should renew it. (In certain place the tax will be collected for six months too)

- Property tax or 'house tax' is a local tax imposed on owners of an apartment, land and building by the Government. The governing authority of the jurisdiction levies the tax to the owner in which the property is located.

- Property tax clearance is required for most of other service like Water, Sanitary, Electricity connection etc.
- Owners of residential properties are liable to pay property tax to respective department on a specified period of time and has to be paid regularly (period can be 6 months or one year in respect to the state).
- Tax Exemption is applicable for selected citizens / organizations (Educational Institutions, Charitable institutions, Ex-serviceman / In-service man, retired pensioners association, NGO Homes/Teachers Association Buildings) as applicable.
- All residential and commercial (non-residential) properties are assessed for tax.
- The information about all the new constructions, existing construction and improvements to the property must be provided to the respective Department of the state to make necessary changes to tax assessment.
- Note: There will be strict action against the defaulters. It is advisable to pay the tax on time to avoid such situations.
