Andaman and Nicobar - Apply for Un-Married Women Pension


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. In order to apply for Unmarried Women Pension, the applicant has to approach their concerned Gram Panchayat / Municipality / Municipal Corporation office.
  2. Link for contact details: municipal-corporation Contact link AND link Select “Districts” menu to choose districts from the drop down list to reach the respective portal. In the given portal page, please select “ABOUT DISTRICT > Who’s Who” OR “ABOUT DISTRICT > ADMINISTRATIVE SETUP > Wards and Panchayats” OR “DIRECTORY > PUBLICUTILITIES > Municipalities” as appropriate for the contact details AND Panchayat contact link in the given page please select the hyper link against respective state as per requirement for contact details.
  3. Go to the respective office. Consult with the designated authority about the applying procedure and the local department office for this scheme. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
  4. Complete the application form. Attach the entire required document as per our “Required Documents” section and submit it to the designated receiving authority as advised.
  5. After receiving the application, authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place the application will be accepted. Please pay the fees/charges if applicable and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  6. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using the computer.*Acknowledgement receipt will be given against every form received. So, collect it and please keep it safe for future reference.
  7. Applicant will be informed of the probable date of getting approval for the scheme.
  8. This application will be processed further. Concerned authorities will verify the applicant’s details.
  9. After verification, these applications will be sent to the respective sanctioning department with the consent of the verification authorities.
  10. Concerned sanctioning authority will take the right decision against the appeal
  11. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
  12. Once approved, the pensioner will be eligible to get the pension from the first week of next month onwards (or as per sanctioned period) Based on the availability of funds.
  13. Applicant shall revisit the office where they applied for update on their application.
Note:
  • Unmarried women pension is determined in different schemes as named by respective states by the respective social welfare / Women and child welfare department / Municipal department/ revenue department as appropriate.
  • The local administrative department must identify and provide unmarried women Pensions to eligible beneficiaries.
  • Applicant has to bring original documents to the applying office while applying for cross verification purpose and scanning if required.
  • Without cross signature on photograph and signature on the undertaking, the application will be rejected
  • Eligible pension amount fixed by the Government from time to time shall be sent to the beneficiary through bank account / post office account / money order / distributed personally as per the applicable norms of the respective state.


Apply Online:

  1. To apply for unmarried women pension in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the applicant has to visit the following link and download the form: Link.
  2. After that, fill it up appropriately with the necessary details.
  3. Now, attach all the necessary documents listed under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
  4. The application shall be sent to the concerned office by post or in person.
  5. On successful verification and approval, the pension will be released for the unmarried woman.
  6. The applicant is required to contact the concerned office in order to know further about the pension and its approval.

Eligibility

  • Applicant should be citizen of India.
  • No person shall be eligible for the pension, if the person applied for any Social Welfare pensions.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 1 lakh
  • Women in the age of 50 years (or the age limit as fixed by respective state -30/35/40/45) and above
  • Applicant should not be a service pensioner / family pensioner. (Ex-gratia family pension/NPS of up to Rs.4000 is excluded.)
  • Applicant should be an unmarried person.
  • The applicant should not be an income taxpayer
  • The applicant/family should not own more than two acres. (Scheduled tribe is excluded)
  • The applicant should not be under the protection of anyone else
  • No person shall be eligible if he/she resorts to habitual begging.
  • Applicant should not be a recipient of salary / pension / family pension from Central Government / other State Governments.
  • Applicant is not eligible if the person is admitted to a poor home.
  • Applicant should not be an applicant /Beneficiary of two different local bodies
  • Applicant must be a permanent Resident of the respective State

  • The pension will be discontinued if the candidate gets married.
  • Do not submit fake documents as proof to obtain this certificate.
  • Incomplete application will be rejected.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
  • Applicant will be penalized if any information provided by the applicant while applying for this certificate is being found false or incorrect.

Need for the Document

  • Unmarried Women above 50 years are paid a monthly pension of the desired amount.
  • At present, the local bodies have been entrusted with the task of receiving the application, processing, granting and distribution of the pension.
