How to apply:
In person:

1. Application file is filed with any municipality, administrative district or daïra of the same wilaya or with the consular service of the place of residence in Algeria or abroad
2. Applicant should visit the above offices with all the requirements, approach the services desk and request for assistances
3. Accurately fill out the application form and attach all the required documents and submit them.
   
   

Online application :

1. Applicant should visit the ministry of interior, local community and local planning website or click on the following link : Online Application
2. Then click on other services on the home page and select request for a national identification card
3. Read through the instruction carefully and then click on the next page
4. Enter your national identification number(NIN) and biometric passport number to enable you to do the search
5. Fill out all required information and upload your digital photo
6. You must enter the mobile phone number, in order to be able toreceive a short text message (SMS) informing you of the date and place of receiving the national identity card,

1. Have a biometric passport,
2. The data which will be printed on the National Biometric Identity Card, are those printed on your biometric passport,
3. You must specify your current address of residence,
4. You must enter your mobile phone number, to receive, after the production of your National Biometric Identity Card, an SMS message informing you of the date and place of collection of your document,
5. On the next page, enter your National Identification Number "NIN" and the Number of your biometric passport to view and confirm your name, first name and address.

• A biometric identity card is a valid identification card, which has an electronic chip that contain information that are printed on your regular validnational identification card and your biometric passport.
