- To Obtain a License of Occupation, the applicant has to approach the Employment and Social Development Canada (ESRD) Link
- The applicant will need to write a letter explaining their project and why they need it.
- The applicant will need to submit additional documents. Find a list of documents under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant will need to pay fees to obtain the license. Find fee-related information under the “Fees” section of this page.
- The applicant will need to submit the application by mailing it to the address mentioned under the “Office Locations and Contacts” section of this page.
- The application will be forwarded to the relevant authorities. The applicant shall receive their license by mail.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a resident of Alberta.
Fees
- The applicant will need to pay a fee of 50$ plus GST.
- The applicant will need to pay a digital mapping fee of 125$ payable to the government of Alberta.
Validity

Need for the Document
- A license of occupation gives the applicant to enter and use land but does not give the exclusive right of possession.
