Alberta - Get License for Potato Producer


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. If the applicant wants to get a License as a Potato Producer, the applicant will need to approach Potato Growers of Alberta (PGA). Here is the contact Link
  2. The applicant will need to visit the address mentioned under the “Office Locations and Contacts” section of this page.
  3. The applicant will need to inform the kiosk that they wish to obtain a potato producer license.
  4. The applicant will need to fill out an application form with all the relevant details.
  5. The applicant may need to submit additional documents. This will be intimate by the authorities.
  6. The applicant will need to pay a fee. Find further information under the “Fees” section of this page.
  7. Submit the application form at the kiosk, it will be forwarded to the relevant authorities. It may take a few days to process the application.
  8. The applicant may need to submit additional documents as mentioned by the authorities. The applicant will need to wait a few days for the application to be processed.
  9. The applicant will become a member of the PGA and this needs to be renewed every year.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must grow 5 acres or more of potatoes.
  • The applicant must be producing plantlets or nuclear seed.
  • The applicant is engaged in buying or selling of potatoes in Alberta.



Fees

The applicant will need to pay a fee of 50$ annually.


Validity

The membership license is valid for one year.
