Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for an automotive locksmith license, the applicant must first complete an apprenticeship program. Find further information by contacting the security program Link
2. The applicant will need to download and fill out the application form. Here is the link to download the form Link
3. The applicant will need to attach copies of documents, find a list of documents under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. If the applicant is applying for their apprenticeship license, they will need to submit a letter from their employer that states:
   • Employment start date
   • Status of the apprenticeship program
   • they agree to assume responsibility for you
   • the name and licence number of the applicant’s licensed supervisor
5. Submit the application form along with the documents in person to the nearest registry agent that offers security programs licensing service. Find the nearest office here: Link
6. The applicant will need to pay the licensing fee at the office, find further information under the “Fees” section of this page.
7. Once the application form has been approved, the applicant will be issued a temporary license. The license will be mailed to the applicant within 60 days.

• The applicant should not be the subject of a criminal investigation.

• The applicant needs to pay a fee of 160$ to obtain an automotive lock bypass worker license.
• The applicant will need to pay a 9$ service charge.
