Alaska - Obtain Sport Fishing License and King Salmon Stamps


Procedure

Go to this Site.

  1. Have the following information available:
    1. valid credit card and expiration date: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and some debit cards (not all are compatible)
    2. valid mailing address
    3. valid e-mail address (an email confirmation of your purchase will be sent to you)
    4. phone number (required on bank page only for credit card processing)
  2. Complete the online application.
  3. If you are purchasing a license or tag: Items are mailed the next business day. Please remember to allow extra time for the item(s) to reach your destination from Alaska.
  4. If you have not received your item within two weeks and are located in the United States, please contact adfg.license@alaska.gov.

Note: You cannot hunt, fish, or trap without a valid license in your possession.

Eligibility

Residents and non-residents of Alaska, ages 16 years old or older.




Fees

Validity

These licenses are good from the date of purchase through December 31 of the license year. The exceptions to this are the resident trapping licenses which are valid through September 30 of the next calendar year and the nonresident fishing licenses which are good for only 1, 3, 7 or 14 days.

Instructions

  • Sport fish licenses and king salmon stamps may be purchased online, at most sporting goods stores, and at Fish and Game offices.
  • State residents age 60 or older who maintain their residency may participate in sport fisheries without a sport fishing license, but must apply for and possess an ADF&G Permanent Identification Card.
