Alaska - Obtain Driving Record


Procedure

Fax RequestEdit

  • Complete and fax the Driving Record Request by Fax Form to the fax number: 1-907-269-5202.
  • Please do not fax your request more than once.
  • If you faxed your request and have not received it in a reasonable time period (Please allow 2 business days).

Mail RequestEdit

  1. Complete this Driver Record Request Form.
  2. Mail your request to the address shown below.

    Anchorage AK 99503-3600.

In Person RequestEdit

  1. Go to any local DMV office.
  2. Present proper identification.
  3. Complete this Driver Record Request Form.
  4. Submit the request.

  • Legal Name (Printed)
  • Alaska Driver license number or date of birth
  • Purpose for record (employment purposes, insurance, "clearance letter" or other)

Eligibility

Only you are eligible to obtain your personal record unless you have a signed release to obtain a record for another person. It is because driving records are confidential. Parents may obtain records for their minor children.

Driving Record - $10.00




Validity

Driving records are valid for 30 days.

  • Currently there are three options for Alaska residents and former Alaska residents to obtain a copy of their driving record.
  • The record may be requested by mail, fax or by going to any DMV and showing proper identification.
  • Driver's license record checks cannot be conducted by telephone due to the requirements of producing identification and the payment of the research fee.
  • Be sure to specify in your request whether you need the record for employment purposes, insurance, "clearance letter" or other. This will help us to send you the right document for your specific purpose.
