The legal age to marry without parental consent is 18 years.
Individuals who are at least 16 years of age but less than 18 years of age may need to meet certain requirements.
For those aged 16 and 17, you may obtain a license if parents of both parties are present, has given their consent in writing and can present a valid identification.
For those who have been divorced, you may not apply for a license within 60 days after your divorce was granted unless you are remarrying your former spouse.
Notes:
Cash or credit card requirement varies depending on a county. Some locals charge $2 for using a credit card. License fees also vary. $43.35+ for marriage license only; $63+ for license, ceremony and a certified copy.
All Marriage licenses issued can only be issued in the State of Alabama. It expires in thirty (30) days from the date it was issued.

A marriage license is required for a marriage to be legally recognized in the State of Alabama. The Probate Judge is responsible for issuing marriage licenses, under Alabama law, marriage licenses issuance is purely ministerial and probate judges have no discretion when carrying out this duty.
